Calling space "flat" as jargon for "Euclidean geaometry applies (paprallel lines stay parallel, angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees, etc), the overall density of the universe equals critical density (omega=1), etc." was misleading to the public because it used an everyday term in a very specific way.

So, I too am interested to know what you mean exactly by "flat time."
