Hi, Eric. I really love this. I agree that this wasn't exactly what the quote addressed, but there is a huge group of people, whole philosophical schools, that uphold the notion of the universe existing simply because we are here to perceive it. And this is not an entirely alien notion to Leggett's one of people's formulation of the rules of the universe to set their own liking -- as if their liking is not governed by the universe.
